Review of Mission Impossible (1971) by Steve H — 27 Jul 2018
Mission Impossible is a fun thriller, though it undoubtedly would be better if it wasn't so void of emotion.
It's simultaneously everything right and wrong with spy movies. Its iconic heist scene still holds up shockingly well decades later as an exceptionally fun twenty minutes. The rest of the film has some decent Fugitive vibes going on, though that doesn't change the fact that it sort of lacks a soul.
Overall it's far from a masterpiece, but well worth the viewing both for its mystery and the aforementioned heist.
