Review of Midsommar (2019) by Swm5814 — 28 Jul 2019
Horror as fulfillment. The two leads give themselves over to precisely the things that consume them whole. That almost all of the movie is in daylight only makes it more unsettling. Not a perfect movie - the dueling doctoral theses, designed as a metaphor, are still annoying - but an experience so realized, it'll be panned.
A lot.
