Review of Magic Magic (2013) by Kale J — 16 Aug 2013
I just saw this last night and it made me scratch my head at the end. Cera's performance was extremely eery which made me even anxious watching. We couldnt tell if he was Autistic or just an eccentric creep! Temple's performance was really good. Her freak outs seemed legit and had me feeling out of breath and on edge like her character. Throughout the movie, I kept changing my mind on who the real crazy person was. You go from suspecting one friend then realize there is something suspicious about another. Ex: The phone call that Temple makes to her cousin outside in the dark made me suspicious of her cousin's intentions of bringing her on the trip.I liked the movie and suspence until the last scenes.
The folks who complaining about others not liking the movie.... it's just a matter of OPINION. I've watched a ton of indie films, "artistic' films, etc. and this one was disappointing only because I don't enjoy having more questions than answers about movies. No they don't need a perfect ending, but to AT LEAST explain itself. If you want to be annoyed and disappointed at the end, rent this "horror" film.
