Visually stunning and superbly acted, Justin Kurzel's adaption of Macbeth is an aggressive, violent and powerful delivery. Faithful to the source material, this one adaptation will appeal to both purists and those who are not familiar with Shakespeare's tragedy.

Demanding, but also rewarding, the movie might be a bit hard to follow for all the two hours, but in the end every single minute spent watching the mesmerizing Michael Fassbender and ambitious Marion Cotillard is worthy. Compared to other adaptations, Justin Kurzel's one is probably the fiercest one, almost nearing a blood bath. This might not be in line with some purists' taste, but nevertheless, the violence gives an additional force to the play's message.
