Review of La Strada (1954) by Manish R — 20 Mar 2010
Another Italian masterpiece............
First of all,I love neo-realistic Italian cinema more than cinema of my own country(India) because they make movies on very realistic subjects without making audience fool by showing fake emotions and stories and above all their cinema is daring and reaches to very end of human emotions and left a very profound affect on us.I can easily relate and involve myself to these movies,no matter they are 50 years old.
I felt same when I saw la strada, another Fellini's masterpiece.
La strada is a highest and purest form of cinema making.neo-realistic and also full of adventure and emotions.
Fellini's direction is flawless(as always) and also have great performances of Giulietta Masina as a very sweet and innocent girl she bring her emotions of fear, joy, innocence and madness very intelligibly.Anthony Quinn was great too as emotionless, careless traveling entertainer.
La Strada is engaging and entertaining from beginning to end. Surely a masterpiece, one of the greatest cinema of history.
