Review of La Strada (1954) by Steve W — 04 Apr 2014
Extremely powerful tragedy involving a foolish tightrope walker, an uneducated child-woman, and a brutish circus strongman. Giuletta's character tries valiantly to fit in and to find love, or at least a comfortable way of life.
I am always left very saddened and speechless by the tragic turn of this film-and i'm not the only one. Has aged very well, the more you see it the more one appreciates this great masterpiece. Like any truly great tragedy it has much to teach us.
