Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Heidi P — 17 Jan 2008
Existentialism has never been cooler or sexier. Mastroianni is the top cat of the papparazzi in 50s Rome but it's not enough for him. He wants something more noble and some meaning from life. The universe is not forthcoming however and he truly left as fortune's fool.
To watch it is to stare into the abyss. It also makes me want to take up smoking.
