Review of Kiss the Ground (2020) by Jenniferlyng1 — 27 May 2021
If you need another reason to support sustainability and work towards saving our environment, the documentary Kiss the Ground provides an abundance. The film is directed by Rebecca and Josh Tickell, and features narration from Woody Harrelson, who discusses how important regenerative agriculture is for the future of our soil, fresh water, and food supply.
Regenerative agriculture is farming and food production techniques that are the least harmful to our environment, and promote growth. Kiss the Ground discusses how locations such as the Loas Plateau have been regenerated thanks to progressive farming practices, and how we have the means to replenish our soil.
The documentary showed representation from all cultures and age groups, emphasizing the importance of the issue being worldwide. Global warming is a very serious issue, but Kiss the Ground placates any fears the audience may have, by showing farmers and scientists who are working on processes that they believe will steer the planet on the path to healing, as long as we all work together.
