Review of Infestation (2009) by Phil N — 04 Aug 2009
Extremely likeable big bug movie with the usual group of misfits, led by slacker Cooper (Marquette), fighting to survive and head for the insects' nest on a rescue mission. A simple set up (no back story or explanation given - nor required), Infestation just gets on with it and succeeds by trying to avoid too many cliches and maintaining a light tongue-in-cheek tone throughout.
The effects aren't bad for its type, there are some neat action scenes, and having Ray Wise on board as Cooper's ex-military Dad is simply a bonus. Great late night fare.
