Chen Zhen is a masked hero, previously portrayed by the likes of Bruce Lee and Jet Li. In this all new adventure Donnie Yen dons the mask, taking Chen Zhen to Shanghai in the 1920s, in the midst of a bitter feud between China and Japan.
Based in a local nightclub - where he falls for singer Kiki (Shu Qi) he seeks to subvert the Japanese invasion. The story has a familiar feel to it, but the film succeeds largely due to Yenâ(TM)s performance and some nifty fight scenes.
