Review of Gnarr (2010) by Tor M — 18 Sep 2015
The pretty incredible story of the comedian Jon Gnarr running for major in the capital of Iceland. Gnarr and his party the "Best Party" is on a campain, slowly gaining votes.
It started out as a joke but as the elecion comes closer, the votes comes in. Their big interests seems like jokes, but still, the votes comes in. Promises of "free towels in all swimming pools" and "a polar bear for the Reykjavík zoo" among others are their big goals.
I know it's been done something similiar in other countries as well, but since Iceland had some great crisis, the people of Reykjavik seem to hang on the the idea of fun and happiness. The man is not even that funny, but this is quite something. Incredible story and an all right documentary.
6 out of 10 kangaroo steaks.
