Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Matthew O — 18 Apr 2014
For a Few Dollars More is one of the few sequels that is actually better than the original, and with how good A Fistful of Dollars was that's saying something. This is the movie where some of Sergio Leone's signature marks came into play, a blend of comedy and tragedy, lots of close ups, use of flashbacks to tell parts of the story, while they might have sprouted in earlier works, this is the one they are in full force.
Also the story in this is excellent, one of the finest examples of revenge used in film, and the combination of great acting, writing, and directing really make you connected to the characters and the struggles they face.
Of course, like in other Leone movies, there are plenty of little moments that give the movie it's unique personality you can't find anywhere else. This is a must see western that's worthy of a place on the shelf for any movie fan.
