Review of Event Horizon (1997) by Paris S — 03 Sep 2014
Event Horizon is a film you see once and don't forget. The film's only redeeming quality is its visuals. In the first hour, it's easy to be fooled into thinking there's a lot more going on than there really is- IF you missed Paul W.
S. Anderson's credit in the opening title sequence, that is. Aside from some interesting concepts and suspense that takes place in the film's opening act, the plot has more holes than an ant hill in the savannah.
Event Horizon is, at best, a film to watch with friends when expectations are set extremely low, because there is something enjoyable about the film despite its many flaws. Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne give C- performances.
