Review of Escape from Tomorrow (2013) by Brett H — 13 Feb 2014
By far one of the most intriguing films ever made, due to it's incredible back-story of filming within DisneyWorld without permits or permission of any kind! The film starts off impressive, as you marvel at how they pulled off filming, but it quickly takes a turn and never recovers.
The problem is the story is all over the place and there's not a single likable character to get behind. The last act of this movie felt like a farce where all this crazy crap was happening inside Epcot, but it just leaves you scratching your head and saying, "WHAT?" As much as they claim it was all filmed on location, there are a few obvious green screen sections for certain takes that cheapen the appreciation you had set up.
Overall, the production behind the film is far more interesting than what ends up on screen, and it probably would've been much more effective as a 25 minute short!
