Given that the film documents the political fallout that follows Natalie's ill-timed Bush-bash, it's remarkable how little the film explores the Chicks' explicit politics. While Kopple has a keen eye and a gift for rhetorical organization, one laments her preoccupation with the group's unfocused bluster and facile introspection over potential activism.
