A masterpiece documentary covering the negative backlash the Dixie Chicks received from their biggest fanbase, conservative country music fans. It's understandable that people chose not to listen to a band anymore because they disagreed with their politics (ironically, we learn that the comment in question was meant as a joke), but what is not understandable BY ANY MEANS is the fact that people hated them and even sent death threats to them over their constitutional right of free speech.
The film culminates in the making of their new album and hit single "Not Ready to Make Nice," a powerful song that responds to the vindictive nationalist critics who have somehow decided that it is anti-American to criticize a certain political party.
This film is a tribute to these women who have stood up and given voice to the common person who is sick of all the bullshit.
