Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Kadeem S — 22 Aug 2012
I got a message to all those political haters: Don't Mess With the Dixie Chicks. They've become from country's most divalicious groups of all time selling platinum albums and winning numerous awards to slamming ex-president George Dubya Bush. They felt what was right for their country, but blames President Bush for all the failures he had since his run for the White House and now the Chicks decided to fight fire with fire as send a message on their World Tour in London. And they were absolutely right when lead member Natalie Maines said:
"Just so you know, we're on the good side ya'll know. We do not want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States (Bush) is from Texas.".
So after that controversial statement, critics were entirely pissed off not just it's because she made a big mistake, but ultimately, it was front page news all over.
Fans are started to get unruly as they threaten to burn the Dixie Chicks' records, albums, and memorabilia (the same fate as Sinead O'Connor rips a picture of John Pope II and immediately SNL has had enough and bans her from appearing on the show for good and people shouldn't buy her music again as they trashed all the stuff with a steamroller). In 2007, country radio stations decided to ban the Dixie Chicks by playing all of their music during airplay.
Whether you love or hate the Dixie Chicks, I'm definitely on Team Dixie. When it comes to music documentaries like this, I hope sometime really soon they should make a biopic on any artists including the Dixie Chicks and let the fans make their own opinion because it's freedom of speech. And that's why we need to keep America safe from terrorists who tries to destroy buildings like the one in the September 11 terror attacks in New York. Shut Up and Sing is a must-see and I hope the kids and families should watch this compelling and controversial movies of all time for years to come.
