Review of Dead Poets Society (1989) by Josh H — 22 May 2011
What really brings this movie down is that for as powerful as each individual scene might be, when they're put together they never quite fit. It's as if the writers had a bullet list of plot points they needed to hit, and the way events unfold never feels natural because of it.
Still, it's an extremely good movie, even if over-plotting holds it back from being a great one.
