Review of Crooklyn (1994) by Jaybreezie — 28 Apr 2008
A great portrait of an black family struggling to hold it all together but yet are still rich in there relationships with another. The film is mostly carried by the kid actors who do an amazing job. Course they have help from Alfre Woodard and Delroy Lindo who give strong performances.
Most of the film is heart warming and uplifting but as it draws to close we get some heartbreaking scenes which only shape the children into the adults they will become. Definitely Spike Lee's most personal film.
