Review of Crooklyn (1994) by Paul J — 24 May 2009
In the city of 'Crooklyn,' structure doesn't exist and story tends to wander around without much at stake, but in the case of this film, that's not too bad; Spike Lee made a perfectly digestible flick about a little girl coming-of-age.
It's slight, but it works, no doubt thanks to the endearing young protagonist and an emotional-roller-coaster family that rings true and switches gear at a dime.
