The Citizen Soldier film follows the heartfelt story of an ordinary group of civilians in Oklahoma's National Guard who willingly leave their families to serve in the United States Military. While battling in the most dangerous parts of Afghanistan, these men experience difficult and life-changing circumstances as they sacrifice themselves to protect our beloved country.

Never before have I seen such an authentic and genuine military documentary that accurately captures what it's actually like to be on the front lines. Using helmet-cameras to document their experiences in Afghanistan, these men provide the audience with a realistic and raw view into the harsh realities of war.

After watching this moving film, I was left with a deeper appreciation and greater respect for the men and women who battle to guard the United States and its citizens. The startling gunshots and harsh conditions of their battles in Afghanistan gave the audience a greater perspective and insight into the difficult lives of military personnel.

Their courage and bravery displayed while deployed oversees was truly amazing, and I thank directors David Salzberg and Christian Tureaud for inviting me into their inspirational and moving documentary that authentically displayed the duties of our armed forces.
