Review of Citizen Soldier (2016) by Josh B — 10 Aug 2016
I was deployed to Afghanistan in RC East and when I came home I ended up watching the film Restrepo. It made me feel like I was back there with my brothers. I didn't think any other film could come close to making me feel the way that Restrepo did.
Citizen Soldier proved me wrong and took it up a notch. I think it's the first person point of view. Being in the soldiers shoes. I found myself clinching the arms of my chair and my heart beating out of my chest.
The film is very intense and brought tears to my eyes. Losing a brother in combat isn't easy and this film took me back to places I haven't been in a long time.
