It must take incredible effort to make a movie this bad. Having read the book several years ago one would expect the technology to become a bit dated and adjustments would need to be made but the story was significantly modified.
The original story was a statement about our reliance on technology and the dangers reimagined. The movie would have been greatly improved if Cusack didn't start his performance as a zombie. His character was utterly boring.
A Michael Bay movie without the special effects. Yes. It's that bad.
