Review of Cell (2016) by Dan C — 11 Nov 2017
I may not have read the book, but I can tell this is easily one of the worst Stephen King adaptions I have ever seen. The premise is displayed to be completely ridiculous, and makes it seem like poor acting is now a disease. Not a single interaction between Cusack and Jackson was the slightest bit interesting, and never once shifted the tones of their voices from the bland, dull, usual tone we got in this movie.
Samuel L Jackson, previously one of Hollywood's most wanted actors, has dropped to a new low with this bomb of a film. If anyone could make this movie less bland and predictable, it would be Samuel. Unfortunately, not even he could save this movie from the eternal hell of forgettable movies.
This movie got so painful to watch that I couldn't handle listening to Cusack's monotone voice any longer. If you asked me what happened after the first half of the movie, I honestly couldn't give you a decent answer. With the combination of lousy dialogue and shoddy acting, it was just too boring to watch.
Overall, 2/10 for in my opinion, the years worst movie.
