Strong performances and nice touches throughout that you'll miss if you're not paying close attention. Largely a slow-burn chiller until the very end, when everything comes together *and* falls apart.
One can see the influence this story had on Stephen King (especially The Shining). A near-classic that spawned a genre, even if it never got the credit it deserves.
