I think this film is grossly underrated. I find it effective-- well-performed, well-photographed, with some extremely creepy moments that don't rely on cheap shock effects, all building to a good bang of a climax.

I've always been puzzled by the generally negative comments about this film. A solid haunted-house flick and a must-see for horror aficionados.
