Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Lilianetty L — 15 Sep 2012

I'm still trying to understand why this movie is a pure art of the 7th art, a masterpiece...cause I don't find it. I'm studying DRAMA INGL and my prof. told the class to watch it because it has expressionism in it. Well that I find it in many ways but the masterpiece thing...it's slow, it's disturbing sometimes and sometimes is not (I tried not to laugh on a peculiar scene...no it's not the disturbed one). Anyway, I almost fell asleep watching it even fast-forward it. The dialogues were fine, the acting was ok (remember, its the 80's not the 21 century yet, so I find watching this kind of hard since it wasn't my time...yet).

So why 2 stars of 5? Because it's not a movie I would rather recommend or re-watch again in my life. The story has many cliches seen today (even if it was great to watch in it's time) and yes, I love to watch better LOTR animation, Star Wars, Total Recall, Robocop and even Star Trek...je suis desole (sorry, lo siento).
