Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Jeff B — 26 Jan 2011
It has elements of David Lynch but it follows the same pattern; same platform we've seen in other Coen Brothers' movies: either someone gets abducted, blackmailed, double-crossed and betrayed, or a spouse wants revenge.
Somehow, each time they return to these same basic storylines to follow, they change the dynamic up every time. This is the movie that let us meet the Coens for the first time and ever since--- they've gone on to greatness.
