Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Ray S — 24 Aug 2017
Blood Simple is arguably the best debut film for any filmmaker. The Coen brothers create an atmosphere dark and oddly humorous with unique characters that are brilliantly casted. The plot is the juiciest part with a plot that not even the characters fully understand making each perspective different than the next.
Not forgetting the great camera work with composition and lighting that is some of the best in the neo-noir genre. However, what makes every good movie great is its dialogue and not only is the dialogue believably it creates a whole other layer of brilliance.
