Review of At the Earth's Core (1976) by Rebecca L — 20 May 2008
I liked this movie even though the underground humans looked like extras from Hair, and someone at some point got the idea that people living under the earth's surface would speak English with a variety of accents and degrees of fluency.
The premise is of course ridiculous, the plot implausible, and obviously scientifically inaccurate, but that's not why I watch movies like this. The lighting was really interesting, the scenery well done (except for that one part where you can see a technician's leg), and mostly it was all kinds of 70s kitschy fun.
It's colorful, imaginative, and campy.
