Review of At the Earth's Core (1976) by David G — 07 Jul 2008
Brilliant Doug McClure rubber monster movie. A great story, really ropey effects and monsters even by 80's standards (but it does not make it any less of a great film!!!!). Peter Cushing is marvelous as the professor, The evil apemen with bad combover haircuts are really funny, but the iceing on the cake has to be my favourite B movie girl Caroline Munroe as the cavegirl in distress in the skimpy costume, sexy as hell.
A brilliant wet sunday afternoon film that is great fun, although if you are under 35 you will probably hate it because of the poor quality rubber monsters!! But for me!!! excellent film that is crying out for a big budget remake.
