Review of All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) by Alexander J — 06 Jun 2007
Imagine, this movie was made when talking pictures were only about to learn their first few own steps. "All Quiet On The Western Front" caused an uproar in German cinemas, as the early Nazi movement boycotted the screenings with stink bombs and white mice in the theatres.
If you want an example of a gritty and brutally honest war movie, go and get it. Over 75 years on its shoulders, yet hasn't lost its initial impact. Read Remarque's book - highly recommmended!
