Review of Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) by Rick L — 04 Feb 2008
I could only stand to watch the first few minutes of this film, so I probably shouldn't be rating it. However, I have been obsessed with the story of Nicholas and Alexandra since middle school, and I loved Robert Massie's book of the same name.
This film, in complete contrast, turned me off with its portrayal of Nicholas as a cold and pompous tsar- nothing like his real-life family man persona. Thumbs down.
