Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Christopher A — 03 Jul 2013
Bold and original. It blurs the line between reality and fiction and makes us rethink what movies are and what they could be. It gives us a glimpse into Kaufman's life and then gives us a caustic, unreal ending.
It offers no real redemption for Charlie, (we get the sense that after 2/3rds of the way in nothing is real anymore) but I found it refreshing because it mocks unreal Hollywood happy-endings with good humor and intelligence.
A weird and wonderful movie.
