Review of 12 and Holding (2006) by Travis T — 12 Apr 2012
I don't even know where I heard of this movie, but I wish I had sooner. Twelve and Holding revolves around 3 12 year old kids experiencing 3 very different issues that are seemingly controlling their lives.
I was very impressed by the acting of the 3 young kids and the rapport that they had with some of the adult actors. The script for this movie was pretty original and at times quite moving. The soundtrack also, was a useful vessel for emotions which helped keep the film moving and in the right direction.
One thing I can say is that some of the adult cast weren't especially believable, but they didn't blow it either. If there's one glaring flaw to this movie it is that it's all too depressing to watch on any sort of regular basis.
Watching it will keep you on the edge of your seat, and then the climax will leave you in it. Either way, this was a very good movie. I'd recommend watching it once.
