Review of 10 Rillington Place (1971) by Terry B — 05 Oct 2007
A true story than played a major part in the ending of capital punishment in the UK. Along with the Ruth Ellis and Derek Bentley cases, none of whom should have been hanged. John Hurt is is totally convincing as the illiterate, but egotistical Timothy Evans, always desperate to "big" himself up.
Attenborough is chillingly creepy as Evans's nemesis and mass murderer. What a telling film!! You must see it.
