Review of Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) by Afm185 — 21 Jun 2020
Super enjoyable. Like every single minute has something to offer. The story is actually pretty decent and the intricacies of it are really fun. There are moments I didn’t like so much, some details that annoy me, but it doesn’t take away from the movie in its entirety enough that they detracted from my enjoyment.
The comedy is usually great, I loveeeee (most of) the characters, the drama works even though usually it’s undercut by comedy, and the action is surprisingly really damn good. They made normal zombie fights interesting and hectic and interesting it’s impressive.
The locations they visit are interesting, plus I think I should mention everything looked pretty good. Oh yeah and I liked all the music too. I don’t know how much I enjoyed the first one the first time I saw it but I feel like this one is just a bit better.
Like slightly. I also think it’s a pretty fantastic continuation from the last movie. They continue the narration from Columbus, which is entertaining, and the rules show up a decent amount and I don’t know why but I really like seeing them.
One thing I don’t love is the characters all having names based on locations. I knew who they were talking about when they were talking about them, but the fact that not only do most people adhere to this weird rule, but it gets a bit hard to remember their names weirdly enough.
And I mean that with the main characters as well. I can’t say I’d want another (which I’ve heard the people involved would like to do) unless it had enough thought and effort for it to be as good as this if not better, but in that case I’d certainly want there to be one.
