Review of Zardoz (1974) by Jean G — 08 May 2008
This weird and bizarre film gets its three starts from me for its innovative storyline and the concept alone. They dont seem to even bother addressing matters like evolution and science and where we are headed as a species anymore, so even though this thing comes accross as a graduating year drama school production from the 70's, and some the trippy effects were better left back there, it is cool for the fact it steps outside the mainstream of thought in such a bizzarre way.
Titties, Sean Connery in a loincloth, mentally ill elderly folk and pseudo-futuristic hippies - it's all here - complete with an interesting message about human evolution to contemplate.
