This movie earns it's star for actually having a storyline that exposes a thought-provoking outlook on the world through the eyes of a future race that has become so advanced they've become bored with life, and so pompous that they look on the rest of the human race as no more than animals.
The rest of the movie (acting, writing, sets, special effects, you know, *everything* else) is cheesy crap, crap, crap, crap, crap.
