Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by Bevan C — 16 Oct 2010
Realistic. PASSIONATE. Erotic. Poignant. This story has the beat of Mexico in its veins (and I've never even been but it truly made me feel like I was a passenger in that vehicle with the characters).
The voice over narrations spliced in with the events of the film really give another depth (a peek if you will) behind just the surface story of three different people going on a road trip to Boca del Cielo (Heaven's Mouth).
It is a tale of culture and status, betrayal and forgiveness, passion and innocence, but ultimately it is a tale of embracing life and uncertainty. Great film.
