This is music history, or modern culture history for that part. They should show this movie in schools, kids today don't know that much about the 60's which I think is pretty important to know if you wanna understand how society and music has developed.
It's a pity though they cut away so many of the "real" hippie artists, like The Incredible String Band for instance.
