Review of Woodstock (1970) by Michael H — 09 Sep 2014
Live footage shot over the three day festival back in 1969. A bit overlong, but still didn't get show a lot of the performances. Not much in terms of narration or opinion, a few couple minute interviewsed here and there.
You could tell some ppl living near to the festival were not happy about it. It shows how split the country was at that time about Vietnam and in general over generations. It also showcases the style and some impressive sideburns of that time haha.
What was really cool was seeing some of the amazing talent on stage-hard to find talent like that these days with all the garbage out there and gimmicks in the music industry. They did film the stars on stage with respect and interestingly by using devices like split screen.
I also found it very unique that for all the disorganization, free attendees, drug use, rain, naked people, over population that out of all of it only 2 people died. Nowadays if people attempted to do this people would've been arrested, killed, trampled, raped, looted, everything.
Yeah some of the hippies were out there in terms of their theories or what not but you could tell that ppl went in there with good intentions and that's what came out of it. I wish I could've gone! It was far out man!
