Review of Wild Zero (1999) by Jens R — 29 Jun 2008
A rock & roll zombie movie???? As a die hard headbanger as well as a worshipper of Zombie films, this gem seemed almost too good to be true!
The Japanese rock & roll band Guitar Wolf have the main roles in the movie (they're going to save the world from zombies) and also made the killer OST (BTW, they look and act cool as fuck). Euphoric, energetic, raw and powerful rock, in the veins of AC/DC & Ramones, lots of exploding heads, deliriously snappy editing, and wondrous synchronization with music and footage, some curious sub plots (involving a female gun dealer, a couple of dorks mixed up in the madness, sexual liberation and one of the goofiest avengers in film history) and a spaced out explosive showdown guaranteed to make your jaw drop in disbelief!!!!!!!!!
