Review of Wild Zero (1999) by Marc C — 16 May 2010
My friend, Josh, just brought over this movie, Wild Zero. Josh usually brings over really interesting or just strange Japanese movies. He has a bit of an obsession with all things Japanese. He is learning Japanese as well.
This movie was decent. I liked the kitchy-ness and the mix of about five different genres: zombie, alien invasion, rock n' roll greasers, and one transsexual. Bizarre combination, but it works.
In the vein of Happiness of the Katakuris, and Stacy.
Sometimes it was over-the-top, but I liked the message: rock n' roll is love without borders, nationality or gender.
