Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Brian S — 15 Jul 2008
Remotely reminiscent of Dickens' Christmas Carol and a good companion film for Kurosawa's Ikiru. a more complex, introspective film for Bergman that beautifully examines perception, mortality, marriage, religion, family, redemption, and purpose.
deeply relatable and thought-provoking, yet still retaining Bergman's stark simplicity, this is a wonderfully human film.
