Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Jeff Q — 12 Jun 2009
Wild Strawberries is a film by Ingmar Bergman about a dying man's life. While this film is considered a masterpiece by many (maybe most) and I agree that it portrays a man's thoughts, fears, memories, disappointments, etc in a very personal presentation, I just couldn?t give a shit. Here's an artistic film that has much to offer, but I just couldn't get on board. I'm probably not the Ingmar Bergman type, as I also wanted to hang myself throughout Fanny and Alexander. I do however still want to see the Seventh Seal and The Virgin Spring.
I really didn?t get into this film, but most others love it, so keep that in mind.
