Review of The Great Silence (1968) by Jeff Q — 05 Sep 2009
A grim, eerie and beautiful spaghettit western. Bleak, even by Italian standards, "The Great Silence" is nothing short of memorable. Morricone delivers another classic score, Trintignant and Kinski offer hugely differant performances and Corbuccis lenses it in a dreamy and nightmarish fashion.
It won't please everyone and I don't suggest watching it if you'r depressed but this is one is a must for fans surreal westerns.
