Released in 1949,"White Heat" is considered to be one of the greatest gangster films of all time. James Cagney's performance as Cody Jarrett remains one of the top ten badasses of them all.
It is amazing that Cagney did not win the Oscar for his performance here,but still he gives a riveting performance that remains one of his best,thanks to a stellar cast that includes Edmond O'Brien, Virginia Mayo and Steve Cochran.
