Review of White Heat (1949) by Chris M — 25 Aug 2012
I'm underwhelmed a bit by this film. Cagney had created two great gangster portrayals before this in Angels with Dirty Faces and Roaring Twenties, in White Heat he goes back to the over the top histrionics of The Public Enemy.
The story however is a great pre-cursor to The Departed in the use of O'Brien's undercover guy.
