Review of White God (2014) by Jesse C — 19 Sep 2015
I have no clue why this movie is getting such high ratings. The cinematic tone makes "White God" seem like a gritty thriller, which it is--in a sense, but the premise is just too absurd to be taken seriously.
Lili is always SERIOUS and morose, which gets boring. I get the metaphor, where the dogs represent people repressed by their rulers, but the way the metaphor is told is too preachy. None of the characters, human or otherwise, have any depth.
I was laughing through most of the parts that were supposed to be taken seriously. It's ridiculous and not in a good way at all.
